Samsung has reportedly moved to mass production of its next-generation Exynos 2700 chipset, built on the company’s new 2nm SF2P process, according to recent reports. The chip is expected to power several models within the Galaxy S27 lineup, scheduled for release in February 2027.
Performance Claims
Early benchmark data, as reported by leaks, suggests the Exynos 2700 is a significant step forward in performance. A Geekbench 6 test allegedly showed a multi-core score of 14,000 points, representing a 9.5% improvement over the 12,856 points achieved by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. Samsung aims to compete with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, Apple’s A20 and MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chipsets.
Galaxy S27 Models
The standard Galaxy S27 5G and Galaxy S27+ 5G are confirmed to utilise the Exynos 2700 chipset. Samsung also plans to launch the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra 5G as part of the series.
Ultra Model Decision Pending
The future of the Galaxy S27 Ultra is less certain. Samsung’s System LSI division, responsible for developing the Exynos 2700, is currently in discussions with the MX division, which oversees smartphone design and sales, to determine whether the Ultra model will also feature the Exynos 2700. The decision hinges on comprehensive thermal testing and evaluation of the chipset’s efficiency, GPU performance, and NPU capabilities. If the Exynos 2700 is not selected for the Ultra, the device will likely use the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor.
Regional Availability
Samsung plans to release Galaxy S27 models equipped with the Exynos 2700 in most regions, with the notable exceptions of the United States and the United Kingdom. These markets will continue to receive devices powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chips.
Launch Timeline
The Exynos 2700 chipset is expected to officially launch in December 2026, preceding the Galaxy S27 series launch in February 2027.
