Vivo is preparing to launch the V80 5G, a new addition to its V series, with a strong emphasis on camera capabilities. The device is slated for release on October 6, 2026, alongside the Galaxy S2 FE, and early information reveals significant improvements across several key areas.
ZEISS-Powered Camera System
A partnership with ZEISS is central to the V80 5G’s camera design. The phone is expected to feature a Sony LYTIA 700W main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), promising sharper images and improved low-light performance. This will be complemented by a ZEISS-powered ultrawide camera.
Enhanced Zoom Capabilities
The V80 5G will also include a 50MP Sony IMX 882 telephoto sensor, offering 3X optical zoom and up to 100X digital zoom. Like the main sensor, this telephoto lens will also benefit from OIS. Vivo reportedly plans to introduce a dedicated ZEISS mode within the camera app, allowing users to capture portrait shots at 85mm and 100mm focal lengths, according to reports.
Core Performance and Display
Beyond the camera, the Vivo V80 5G is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm 4nm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 platform. This chipset should deliver improved performance and enhanced camera processing capabilities. The phone will also feature a compact 6.59-inch OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, alongside thinner bezels.
Battery and Software
Powering the device will be a substantial 7,200mAh battery, supported by 90W wired fast charging. The Vivo V80 5G will ship with OriginOS 7, based on Android 17, and is expected to include a cinematic mode inspired by Apple’s iPhone Cinematic video experience.
Availability and Pricing
The Vivo V80 5G is scheduled to launch in India on October 6, 2026, and is currently speculated to be priced around Rs 60,000.
