Samsung has begun a wider rollout of One UI 9, its latest software iteration built on Android 17. Initially launched with the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Galaxy Z Fold 8, the update is now reaching more devices, including the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.
New AI-Powered Features
One UI 9 introduces a range of new features powered by artificial intelligence. Among these is My FanCam, which intelligently tracks a selected person within a video, keeping them centered and reframing the footage as needed. The Now Brief feature has also been enhanced with Generative and Editable Cards, giving users greater control over the information presented in their daily summaries.
Further AI-driven additions include Now Nudge, which provides context-aware suggestions throughout the Galaxy experience, and Creative Studio, which offers image-generation ideas based on upcoming events. Existing features like Interpreter, Document Scan, and Voice Recorder have also been updated.
Enhanced Security and Device Management
Beyond new features, One UI 9 focuses on bolstering device security. The update includes Security Brief, Privacy Alerts, and Scam Detection to help protect users from emerging threats. The software also aims to provide new ways to manage device care easily and tailor the information users see daily.
According to TelecomTalk, the Galaxy S26 series represents Samsung’s current flagship smartphone line, making the availability of One UI 9 on these devices particularly significant.
