Motorola has taken the lead in the smartphone processor race, debuting the Signature 27 at Qualcomm Summit 2026 as the world’s first device powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. This new chipset, built on a 2nm architecture, promises both significant performance gains and improved efficiency.
First to 2nm
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 arrives ahead of competing 2nm chipsets expected in other flagship devices, including Samsung’s Galaxy S26 and Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro models. Motorola’s move positions them at the forefront of mobile technology, offering a competitive edge in the high-end smartphone market.

Beyond the groundbreaking processor, the Signature 27 boasts a sophisticated camera system. It features a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor alongside a 50MP Sony LYTIA 910 main sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens. The rear camera setup is distinguished by a unique horizontal housing and a circular ring flash, incorporating B&O audio branding.
Motorola has also focused on the audio experience, forging a multi-year partnership with Bang & Olufsen to integrate their audio systems into future devices, starting with the Signature 27. The phone also includes a dedicated “Video Enhancement engine” that uses AI to adjust colour tones. The Signature 27 also supports Dolby Vision video.
AI Integration and Software
The Signature 27 runs MotoOS, known for its clean interface and lack of bloatware, based on Android 17. AI features are deeply integrated into the device, powered by Google Gemini’s Omni model. Users can leverage Gemini to generate videos from prompts, photos, or footage, and even create original music with Lyria. The AI capabilities also extend to the camera app, enhancing photo and video quality.
Availability
The Motorola Signature 27 will be available in PANTONE Coal Smoke and PANTONE Capulet Olive colour variants. Motorola plans to announce global sale details, including the launch date and pricing, by the end of 2026. India availability has not yet been confirmed.
