OnePlus has begun to officially share details about its upcoming flagship phone, the OnePlus 16 5G, following the release of the OnePlus 15 in India. While the design is expected to remain similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 16 is set to deliver substantial internal upgrades.

At the heart of the OnePlus 16 5G will be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. This chipset enables the phone to achieve an AnTuTu score exceeding 5 million points, positioning it as one of the most powerful devices on the market upon its launch.
Camera Capabilities Get a Major Boost
OnePlus is planning to introduce a 200MP sensor for the first time in its smartphones with the OnePlus 16. This indicates a focus on appealing to photography enthusiasts alongside those prioritising performance.
Display Enhancements: Bezels and Refresh Rates
The OnePlus 16 5G will feature a display with a remarkably thin 1.15mm bezel. The display will also support a 185Hz refresh rate for select gaming titles, alongside a standard refresh rate of 165Hz.

OnePlus is equipping the OnePlus 16 5G with a large 9000mAh battery. This substantial capacity, combined with fast-charging capabilities, is expected to significantly improve user experience.
First to Feature Android 17
The OnePlus 16 5G will launch with ColorOS 17, built on Android 17. According to the company, this will make the OnePlus 16 the first device to run on the latest Android operating system.
Notably, OnePlus has indicated that the OnePlus 16 5G is likely not to be released in India.
