Samsung is preparing to raise prices on a range of smartphones in India, including its flagship Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, the upcoming Galaxy S25 line, and select models within its Galaxy A series. Tech tipster Abhishek Yadav reported on X (formerly Twitter) that the increases are slated for October 2026.
Price Adjustments Across Samsung’s Lineup
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 series – encompassing both the Z Fold 8 5G and Z Fold 8 Pro 5G – is expected to see price adjustments starting October 10, 2026. Alongside the foldables, the Galaxy S25 5G and Galaxy S25 Ultra 5G are also targeted for price increases.
Currently, the Galaxy S25 (12GB + 128GB) is listed on Amazon India for Rs 61,999, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra (12GB + 256GB) is priced at Rs 99,999. According to Yadav, both the S25 and S25 Ultra could see price hikes of up to Rs 10,000.
This move follows recent price increases for Samsung’s Galaxy A series devices, and reflects a wider trend in the smartphone market. Other brands have also been adjusting prices upwards in recent months.
Rising DRAM Costs Drive Price Hikes
The price increases are reportedly a response to rising costs for DRAM (Dynamic Random-Access Memory) components. Samsung has not publicly commented on the specific reasons for the adjustments, but the increase in DRAM costs is believed to be a significant factor.
