Samsung has begun the rollout of its One UI 9 software update for the latest Galaxy S26 flagship phones. Based on Android 17, the update introduces a range of new features focused on artificial intelligence, improved usability, and performance enhancements.

The One UI 9 update is currently available for Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra models in South Korea and the United Kingdom. Samsung expects to expand the rollout to additional markets, including India, in the near future.
Key Features of One UI 9
- My FanCam: Part of the Galaxy AI suite, My FanCam allows users to track subjects within recorded videos and offers automatic video editing capabilities through its Mic Moment feature.
- Upgraded Now Brief: The Now Brief feature gains a generative AI interface, enabling users to create and customise cards for displaying information like weather, schedules, reminders, and wellness updates.
- Creative Studio: This new tool provides an image generation capability, allowing users to create visuals from their ideas.
- Advanced Scam Detection: Samsung is expanding its AI-powered scam detection feature, now available in more countries, to protect Galaxy S26 users from potential fraudulent calls.
- Improved Voice Recording: The Voice Recorder app now offers clearer and more structured summaries of recordings, including the ability to generate headings and tables.
Beyond these headline features, One UI 9 also focuses on optimising the user experience with faster app launch speeds and improved battery efficiency, according to Samsung.
