The recent launch of the iPhone 18 Pro has triggered price adjustments for older iPhone models in India, but it’s the iPhone Air that’s seen the most dramatic shift. The device, initially positioned as a slim yet powerful offering, has received a 41% price increase, according to recent reports.
iPhone Air: New Pricing in India
When the iPhone Air first launched in India, it was available at the following prices:
- 256GB: Rs 1,19,900
- 512GB: Rs 1,39,900
- 1TB: Rs 1,59,900
Following the 41% price hike, the iPhone Air now retails at:
- 256GB: Rs 1,49,900
- 512GB: Rs 1,74,900
- 1TB: Rs 2,24,900
Analysts suggest the increase is primarily due to rising component costs globally, particularly for memory chips. This substantial price jump places the iPhone Air in closer competition with the newer iPhone 18 Pro, which starts at Rs 1,64,900. Some speculate that this could be Apple’s intention, potentially steering consumers towards its flagship models.
The iPhone Air is powered by the A19 Pro chip, offering strong performance, though it’s not as powerful as the A20 Pro found in the iPhone 18 Pro. Currently, Apple has not announced any plans for an iPhone Air 2, though reports online suggest a potential launch alongside the standard iPhone 18 in early 2027.
The iPhone 18 Pro models are currently available for pre-order.
