OnePlus is streamlining its global operations, reportedly shutting down offices in several regions to concentrate on the Indian and Chinese markets. This strategic shift comes as the company addresses recent performance challenges, and will see a new smartphone launch in India.
New N Series Device Confirmed
While rumours suggest the OnePlus 16 is expected to launch in China in the coming weeks, it will not be released in India. Instead, OnePlus has officially teased the upcoming launch of a new, more affordable device within its N series – the OnePlus N6 Lite. A dedicated microsite for the phone is already live on Amazon India, indicating an imminent release.
The company has not yet announced a specific launch date, but expects to launch the phone before the end of September 2026. OnePlus indicated the N6 Lite is coming soon, without providing further details.
Positioning and Specifications
The OnePlus N6 Lite will be the third phone in the N series lineup. It is anticipated to be priced below the OnePlus N6x, which launched in India for Rs 18,999 for the 4GB + 64GB configuration. While full specifications remain unconfirmed, current expectations point to a 4G-only device. It is not expected to support 5G connectivity.
