Samsung Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 Metal-Clad Smartphones Launched in India

Samsung on Tuesday launched the metal-clad Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones in India, priced at Rs. 20,500 and Rs. 25,500 respectively. The smartphones will be available in the market from next week, and are not yet listed on the company’s online India store.

The metal-clad Samsung Galaxy A3 and Samsung Galaxy A5 were launched back in October, however, reportedly faced several supply issues delaying their arrival in launch markets.

Apart from their metal bodies, the Galaxy A series smartphones are also considerably slim – with the Galaxy A3 measuring 6.9mm and the Galaxy A5 measuring 6.7mm.

The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A5 include a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) Super-Amoled display; 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor; 2GB of RAM; 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel camera; 16GB built-in storage expandable via microSD card (up to 64GB), and Android 4.4.4 KitKat. It has a 2300mAh battery, measures 139.3×69.7×6.7mm, and weighs 123 grams.

The Galaxy A3 on the other hand comes with 4.5-inch qHD (540×960 pixels) Super-Amoled display; 1.2GHz quad-core processor; 1GB of RAM; 16GB inbuilt storage; expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 64GB); 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash; 5-megapixel front camera, and Android 4.4 KitKat. It features a 1900mAh battery, measures 130.1×65.5×6.9mm and weighs 110 grams.

There is still no news about Galaxy A7, an as-yet-unannounced smartphone that was tipped on several occasions to be launched alongside the new Galaxy A-series of smartphones. The smartphone was recently leaked again tipping its specifications. The smartphone has been previously rumoured to be the thinnest Samsung smartphone to date at 6.3mm.
