Vivo is preparing to release the X500 series, consisting of the Vivo X500 and Vivo X500 Pro, on September 21, 2026, initially in China. Both devices will be powered by the recently announced MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro SoC, a detail Vivo confirmed after MediaTek’s initial announcement.
MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro Details
The MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro is notable for its 2nm fabrication process. It features an octa-core processor configuration:
- Three efficiency cores clocked at 3.10 GHz
- Three performance cores clocked at 4.35 GHz
- Two prime cores clocked at 4.55 GHz
OPPO is also planning to utilise the same chipset in its upcoming Find X10 series, specifically the Find X10 Pro Max, which is scheduled to launch in China on September 22, 2026 – one day after Vivo’s launch event. The Vivo X500 Pro is reportedly capable of 4K video recording at 120fps with 10-bit Log, according to details emerging ahead of the launch.
While the initial launch is confirmed for China, Vivo has not yet announced plans for availability in other markets, including India. It remains to be seen whether the X500 series will be released globally.
