Apple has quietly adjusted pricing for the iPhone 17 in India following the release of the iPhone 18 Pro models. Contrary to expectations that the older model might see a price reduction with the arrival of the newer flagship, the iPhone 17 has instead become more expensive.
iPhone 17 Pricing Update
The price increase is attributed to rising memory costs. Tim Cook, Apple’s former CEO, previously indicated that price adjustments were likely. The updated pricing is as follows:
- 256GB variant: Increased from Rs 82,900 to Rs 99,900
- 512GB variant: Increased from Rs 1,04,500 to Rs 1,24,900
The iPhone 17 remains available in Lavender, Mist Blue, White, Sage, and Black. Despite the price adjustment, the phone’s specifications remain unchanged. It features a 120Hz ProMotion display and an upgraded 48MP camera sensor.
Apple’s move aligns it with other smartphone manufacturers like Samsung, Vivo, and OPPO, who have also recently increased prices. While the price hike is now in effect, TelecomTalk reports that retailers may still offer the iPhone 17 at discounted rates. The iPhone 17 continues to be available for purchase through e-commerce platforms such as Flipkart and Amazon India, as well as directly from Apple with the option of Apple Care+.
Customers should note that the iPhone 17 package includes a charging cable, but a separate charging brick must be purchased. The iPhone 18 has not yet launched.
