Mumbai’s number one Broadband and telecom service provider Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) announced the launch all new 10 Mbps High-Speed Broadband plans starting from Rs.990 using VDSL technology.
MTNL announced that its customers in non-FTTH coverage area can upgrade the existing ADSL network to VDSL Broadband network wherein they can get FTTH like plans with 10 Mbps download speeds and 5 Mbps uploads speed within the distance of 1.5 Km from area telephone exchange.
The entry level MTNL VDSL Broadband plan starts from Rs.990 and offers 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speed till the 25 GB. After 25 GB data usage, speed is downgraded to 512 Kbps.
While the other VDSL Broadband plan are – VDSL Power Rs.1290, Rs.1690 and Rs.2290 offering the same speed of 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload speed upto 45 GB, 75 GB and 150 GB respectively.
The VDSL or VHDSL (Very High Bitrate DSL), on the other hand, is the next-generation technology which is capable of supporting high bandwidth applications like HDTV.
Apart from the above new VDSL plans, MTNL Mumbai has also revised its existing 20 Mbps VDSL Combo 4999 plan by adding three times more free data usage data – 300 GB compared to 100 GB. With this plan, the additional usage charges beyond 300 GB is charged at 10 paisa/MB and speed will be remain 20 Mbps for all further downloads.
