Xiaomi is expanding its Redmi 17 series presence in India with the upcoming launch of the Redmi 17C 5G. This follows the recent introduction of the Redmi 17 5G, Redmi Note 17 5G, and Redmi Note 17 Pro in the Indian market.
India Launch Date Confirmed
The Redmi 17C 5G is scheduled to launch in India on October 1, 2026, Xiaomi confirmed in a post on X (formerly Twitter). The device will be available in three colour options: Brown, Black, and Purple, mirroring the options offered in other markets.
Design and Display
The Indian variant of the Redmi 17C 5G is expected to maintain the same design as the globally released model. This includes a rectangular, slightly raised camera island housing two vertically arranged camera sensors alongside an LED flash. The display features a waterdrop notch for the front-facing camera.
The Redmi 17C 5G boasts a 6.9-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 810nits. It also includes a microSD card slot for expandable storage.
Performance and Battery
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. The phone launched in Singapore with a base configuration of 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, and it is anticipated that similar configurations will be available in India. A substantial 6000mAh battery provides power, supported by 33W fast-charging.
Camera and Durability
The Redmi 17C 5G features a 50MP primary camera sensor for photography, complemented by an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies. The device also carries an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust and water splashes.
