Apple’s newly released iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are already drawing attention for reported issues, surfacing shortly after the phones began shipping with the iOS 27 update. Customers in India are currently able to purchase the devices, with the iPhone 18 Pro starting at Rs 1,64,900 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max priced from Rs 1,79,900.
Display Anomalies Reported
Following similar complaints levied against Samsung and OnePlus devices, some iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max owners are reporting the appearance of green or pink lines on their displays. Apple has not yet confirmed whether this is a widespread problem or limited to a smaller number of units. The iPhone 18 Pro utilises OLED panels sourced from both Samsung and LG.
Face ID Bugs Cause Freezes
Users are also experiencing problems with Face ID functionality. According to reports, the system sometimes fails to recognise faces when unlocking apps, and in some instances, causes the phone to freeze and reboot when attempting to unlock from the lock screen. These issues have not been reported by users of the iPhone 17.
MagSafe Compatibility Concerns
The iPhone 18 Pro introduced a variable aperture lens with six blades, allowing users to select between ƒ/1.48, ƒ/1.8, ƒ/2.8, and ƒ/4.0. However, a user reported that the blades are being attracted to the magnets in certain third-party MagSafe accessories, causing the aperture to close unexpectedly. This suggests potential compatibility issues with accessories.
Apple has not yet confirmed whether these issues stem from hardware or software faults, but the aperture lens problem appears to be hardware-related. As of now, the company has not officially commented on any of these reported problems.
