Vivo is preparing to introduce the V80 5G to the Indian market, having officially teased the device. This follows the phone’s initial release in international markets and a strategic decision to launch the Vivo S2 5G in India instead of a V-series model previously.
Design Draws iPhone Comparisons
A short teaser video reveals the V80 5G will be available in an orange colour variant, which immediately draws comparisons to the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Vivo states that the new phone will provide a “cinematic upgrade” for users’ content creation, suggesting a strong focus on camera capabilities – a hallmark of the V series.
Key Specs and Expected Pricing
While a firm launch date remains unconfirmed, details emerging suggest the Vivo V80 5G will offer several upgrades over its predecessor, the Vivo V70 5G, which launched in India for Rs 49,999. According to sources, the V80 5G is expected to feature:
- A substantial 7200mAh battery
- OriginOS 7, built on Android 17
- A 50MP telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom
Rising costs for RAM and memory components are anticipated to push the V80 5G’s price point at least Rs 10,000 higher than the V70 5G. Vivo continues its collaboration with ZEISS to refine the phone’s camera technology.
It remains unclear whether Vivo plans to release additional models within the V80 series in India, but further announcements are expected soon.
