The Google Pixel 11 5G is now available, having launched recently, while the iPhone 17 arrived in 2025. Despite both being flagship devices targeting different segments of the market, a key differentiator has emerged: price. In India, the base 256GB iPhone 17 has seen its price increased to Rs 99,900, while the Pixel 11 5G is available for Rs 89,999.

Display and Build Quality

Both smartphones feature 6.3-inch OLED displays with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 3000nits. However, Apple incorporates an LTPO panel into the iPhone 17, alongside Ceramic Shield 2 for enhanced scratch resistance.

Performance and Memory

The iPhone 17 is powered by the A19 chip, which is reported to offer greater performance and optimisation than the Google Pixel 11 5G’s Tensor G6 chipset. While the Tensor G6 is powerful, Apple’s silicon maintains a performance edge. In terms of memory, the Pixel 11 5G offers configurations with 12GB of RAM, a capacity not available on the iPhone 17. Both devices offer up to 512GB of internal storage, but the Pixel 11 5G utilises faster UFS 4.x storage.

Camera Systems

The Pixel 11 5G boasts a triple-camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor, a 10.8MP telephoto lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide angle lens. The iPhone 17 features a dual-camera system with 48MP wide and ultra-wide sensors. The Pixel 11 5G’s inclusion of a dedicated 5x optical telephoto lens provides greater versatility. Both phones support 4K video recording at 60fps with Dolby Vision HDR, though some observers note Apple’s generally superior video optimisation.

Battery, Security and Software

The Pixel 11 5G packs a larger 4985mAh battery compared to the iPhone 17’s 3692mAh cell. Despite the capacity difference, Apple’s optimisation efforts result in comparable battery life. The Pixel 11 5G includes an in-screen fingerprint sensor, while the iPhone 17 relies on Face ID. Google has committed to seven years of OS updates for the Pixel 11 5G, while Apple has not made a similar explicit promise, though continued updates are expected.
